Communities are finding creative ways to entice home buyers to pick their homes. TwinCities.com reports, “Some buyers in West St. Paul will be eligible for perks like free cable, Internet access and a golf membership — courtesy of the city — for one year under a vacant property program officials approved this week as a way to woo potential homebuyers. Coupled with a $2,000 no-strings-attached grant, the city’s incentives will top $3,300.”
St Paul has a program that provides perks to first time home buyers who are also hometown heroes, such as military veterans, members of the U.S. armed forces, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, health care workers and certain public sector employees.
Ramsey County is offering a deferred loan program for foreclosed homes in Little Canada and Maplewood.
