Minnesota was ranked fourth-best for diabetes, eighth in the rate of smoking, and 14th for obesity.
The report said the state’s strengths are low premature death rates and a low rate of deaths from cardiovascular disease. The study challenged Minnesota on its high prevalence of binge drinking and its low per-capita public health funding.
