Como Park: More than a zoo, a family-friendly neighborhood dedicated to recreation

Describe the Como neighborhood in one word: Family-friendly.

Conveniently close to Minneapolis and St. Paul, but just enough outside of the big cities to provide a real sense of nature. The Como Park area is most known for its recreational opportunities. The neighborhood is full of active residents, and the area lends itself well to individuals and families that want to stay active.

People are most familiar with the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, which is an awesome place for kids and families to get outside, learn about animals and plant life, all so close to home! There are several other fun but lesser known things in this area including the Como Golf Course, Como Park Ski Center, and a couple recreation centers.

They also have a District 10 Community Council whose missing is “to inform, educate, and connect the Como Park neighborhood to increase community pride and confidence.” On their site, they keep residents up to date on what’s happening within the community, provide news and event updates, volunteer opportunities and more.
