The National Association of Realtors recently ran an article (N.A.R. ADVOCATES F.H.A. REFORMS TO INCREASE HOMEOWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES) promoting a new mortgage insurance program with the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) that will help bridge the gap in minority homeownership.
Today only 3 percent of homebuyers go with an FHA loan as compared with 12 percent in the 1990’s. On June 19, legislation was introduced – Expanding American Homeowner Act – that encompasses reforms recommended by the FHA and advocated by the National Association of Realtors.
