Minnesota’s Bad Weather Good for House Hunting

It’s hot and sticky, there’s a thunderstorm brewing, and here comes a tornado warning. And that’s just the weather report from Tuesday afternoon! The unpredictable summer weather gets in the way of nearly everything – except house hunting.

Bad weather is the prefect time to visit a prospective home because it gives you an opportunity to see how livable the home is. Go in the hot weather to see how well the air conditioning works or see if the cross ventilation in an older home supplants the need for air conditioning. Visit the basement after one of our famous Minnesota thunderstorms to check for water seepage. Take the opportunity to check out the landscape too – how is it holding up to sun and rain.
